Frequently Asked Questions

Can I qualify with my medical history and/or pre-existing conditions?

Depending on the age and amount applied for, the underwriting process consists of an application, and usually some sort of para-medical exam (performed at the client's requested location and at the insurance companies expense) which usually includes medical questions/history, a blood sample and urine specimen. For older ages and/or higher death benefit amounts, a resting ECG and/or treadmill could be required also. Your agent will be able to tell you what the requirements are. After the application and exam is completed, the underwriter will determine if medical records from your doctor are necessary to review also.

Once all of this information is received by the underwriter, he will make a determination as to whether the insurance company is willing to offer the insurance. Sometimes extra premium is charged because of certain medical conditions.
